The AMH ferry strike was finally resolved and we are on our way again. Mady and I decided to walk on to the ferry. Hours later, the boys drove the car on to the ferry. We had two cabins on board, next door to each other. Our longest port call was Ketchikan. We walked from the ferry terminal to get breakfast and coffee. The Ketchikan airport is across the channel from the main city. If you miss the ferry, you miss your flight. Caesar Cat was confined to the car during the 3 day trip. Hello again! The purpose of this page will be to record our adventures in Alaska. We left California (and our Lemon Tree) on July 27, 2019 and arrived in Juneau, Alaska on August 12, 2019. My intent is to mainly post pictures and not as many words. Possibly a post will cover the month, or maybe not. It's a thought in progress. However it turns out, I hope you will enjoy an inside view of life in Alaska.
Alex, Zach, Mady and I went out to the Glacier to explore. While we were walking around, a ranger approached us and said we had attracted the attention of a bear. The ranger walked us to a better/safer location and we had a front row seat to Nicky (she is a regular and has a nick in her ear) emerging from the trees and walking down the trail. We also saw some beavers (pictures didn't turn out) and of course more bald eagles.
